Competitive Analysis: Data Transfer Calculator
A leading producer of calculators asked 7th Wave Consulting to provide a competitive and market study of calculators being used in high schools throughout the US. Their calculator was unique since it had a built in capability to link and transfer information to and from a computer. They needed definitive research on the calculator market, computer labs and usage, and high school mathematics classes. During our 45-day project, we were able to identify their top ten competitors, analyze their competitive advantages, recommend positioning for their launch, and provide federal funding resources for schools who wanted to purchase their products. They have successfully launched their new product and have been well received by educators throughout the U.S.
Channel Development: Internet Content
An Internet start-up asked 7th Wave Consulting to help them better define and create offers from their Internet delivered content. Their product was a unique environment in which students in grades 3-8 could explore and learn new concepts easily. We helped define a new sales process, established pricing, set-up a reseller channel, trained and advised their sales staff, and helped prepare marketing materials to support their launch. During our six-month project we successfully transitioned while they opened new offices, hired new staff and launched their company. They have successfully launched their product and have been well received by both educators and resellers throughout the U.S.
Strategy and Implementation: Classroom Phonics Book
A leading publisher had a very successful line of branded phonics books being sold directly to homes throughout the U.S. They asked 7th Wave Consulting to help them create a classroom edition of their materials, and then establish a reseller channel to reach the K-3 school market. Within the first 12 months we aided them in developing direct mail and other marketing collateral, creating sales forecasts and budgets, developing a booth and establishing a conference schedule and creating an educational reseller program. They now have a successful school channel and have hit projections for their first year sales.
